"Brothers & Sisters" single (Coldplay)

My other CD purchase thanks to a coupon was Coldplay's "Brothers & Sisters" three track, originally released in 1999 and reissued in the States after Coldplay became successful. Overall, the tracks are pretty good. You probably already know if you like the Coldplay style. If you do, this disc will fit right in with your others of theirs; if you don't, this won't change your mind. My favorite of the three tracks is "Easy to Please."

Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends (Coldplay)

Coldplay's Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends is on course to be one of 2008's biggest albums. That's understandable, given that "Viva La Vida" has become one of the biggest U.S. hits of their career. However, while I like this album, I can't say it's my favourite from Coldplay. While I know I'm in the minority, I can't help but feel X&Y was particularly strong. Anyhow, the best track on this album is lead single "Violet Hill," but Coldplay fans will find several more to enjoy. "Strawberry Swing" was one of the other highlights for me.

Coldplay's new single "Violet Hill" has been made available as a free download from their website. The song is brilliant. I love it! It is just under four minutes of awesome and leaves me hankering for their forthcoming album, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.
